Social media is a great tool for female empowerment. It provides a platform for women to connect, share their experiences and uplift each other. Countless Instagram accounts are dedicated to celebrating and inspiring women.
From highlighting female trailblazers to addressing social and political issues, these accounts offer a daily dose of motivation and encouragement to women everywhere. In this day and age, it’s more important than ever to seek out positivity and empowerment, and these Instagram accounts do just that. Here are some of my top picks for female empowerment accounts to follow on Instagram:
Greta Thunberg
Grets is the perfect example of restoring faith in humanity! Their incredible activism for environmental issues and youth empowerment make her an excellent addition to your newsfeed.
Following her will help you learn about the ways you can get involved in the fight against climate change. I just hope to be half as amazing and empowering as they are!
Elyse Myers
As soon as I saw her first date disaster story on TikTok, I knew I needed more of her and I’m so glad the rest of the world did too! Not only is she funny and relatable, she’s such a great advocate for the mental health community! The way she talks through her feelings in the moment is so empowering and brave and real.
I get way too excited whenever she releases some form of content and I really think you will too!
Jameela Jamil
This is sort of a two-for-one special! Jameela Jamil’s official Instagram account is full of affirmations, women’s rights activism and overall inspirational content. She does a great job in keeping her followers informed of the seriously messed up shit happening around us.
Her second account, I Weigh, is all about mental health, loving yourself and all of the things women should weigh besides themselves! Everytime I visit either account, I leave more informed and more empowered than when I got there.
Selena Gomez
I could write a book about the reasons you should follow Selena Gomez, but I’ll keep it short ;).
She’s so talented and I love her work, but she also gets really candid about her life, mental health and physical health. When I was told I had lupus, she was one of the biggest inspirations for me. I love that she talked about how to live with it and that it was OK to be frustrated at the same time. She talks about her hardships with it and I really appreciate that for everyone living with such a terrible auto-immune disorder.
A true inspiration!
Dylan Mulvaney
I truly do not think I have stuck with a series the way I have with Dylan’s transition. The genuine excitement she shows during her daily updates is something I live for. It’s like seeing my best friend grow right before my eyes!
She is another creator using her platform to actually enact change and uplift everyone. Her recent show, DAY 365: LIVE!, was a beautiful success and a great way to celebrate such a huge accomplishment while also donating all profits made during the show to The Trevor Project and their endless crisis support services for LGBTQ youth.
If you need genuine and uplifting content added to your feed, then join me and the millions of others in watching our new gal pal blossom!
Alex Elle
If you’re looking for some serious inspiration and affirmation, then follow Alex Elle immediately! Not only do they provide valuable insights and tips for personal and professional growth, but they also do such a great job adding that human or relatable element to it like getting older, self-doubting, hard truths and more.
The positivity and encouragement they bring to their community is truly admirable, and it’s refreshing to see a creator use their platform to not only talk the talk but to walk the walk when it comes to supporting women. In a world that can often feel isolating, Alex Elle reminds us that we’re all in this together and that lifting each other up is the way to go.
