Best Workout Gear Dupes: Amazon vs. Lululemon

Oct 12, 2020

written with love on

As a former athlete, yoga instructor, and fitness coach, I’ve spent a lot of my life in workout gear. Wearing supportive garments that don’t bunch/itch/slide around makes my workouts feel so much better. It’s hard to concentrate on your workout if you’re worried about your clothes!

Finding athletic wear that actually fits your body and your budget can totally change your relationship with fitness. High-quality workout wear can be expensive, especially for items like leggings and sports bras. I’ve found some amazing, inexpensive Lululemon dupes from the brands Colorfulkoala and Lavento that you can buy on Amazon.

I’ve found a dupe for my favorite Lululemon leggings, joggers, and tank top from inexpensive brands on Amazon and can’t wait to share them with you!

After purchasing a few pairs of legging dupes, I’ve found multiple reasons to love these items. They are…

  • Well-made and can withstand any workout.
  • Affordable alternatives to name brands if you’re working on a budget.
  • Designed to complement curves and help you feel amazing while you’re on the go.

So, if you’re looking for a durable and affordable alternative to Lululemon’s Align collection, look no further!

Printed Leggings and Solid Leggings

The Details: I honestly love these leggings. These high-waisted leggings are buttery soft, and you feel like your body is being hugged by the fabric. These leggings run true to size (I wear a medium) and have sizing options ranging from X-Small to X-Large. The waistline is accommodating to my stomach without feeling constricted. They also have a crotch gusset that protects against camel toe. These don’t bunch or slide down while I’m wearing them, and they’re totally squat proof.

What’s the Difference? Amazon features more available colors and patterns. The only difference I could find between Colorfulkoala and Lululemon’s Align leggings is a MINOR difference in length. Colorfulkoala’s leggings are slightly shorter than Lululemon. If you’re tall, this might be an issue but I like that the seam sits higher on my ankle.

Show Me the Money: Colorfulkoala’s leggings range from $20 – $30, depending on the size and pattern. You could probably buy cheaper leggings, but I don’t think you could get this quality for a lower cost. Lululemon’s high waisted Align leggings cost about $98.

Joggers

The Details. In my experience, it’s hard to find joggers that actually fit and feel good while I’m working out. These joggers are the same length as Lululemon and fit snugly on the ankle. I really like that they have two seams in the inside of the leg. This reduces stress on the fabric so you’ll get fewer inner thigh rips! I also really like that the waist is secure without being too tight, and the fabric stretches as you wear it without giving you a drop-crotch by the end of the day.  They also have spacious pockets where you can store your phone or keys if you’re on a walk. I have these in Black and the Lilac Grey color.

What’s the Difference? I really couldn’t find any major differences between these and the Lululemon joggers. These joggers are by far the most similar Amazon dupe for a Lulullemon product that I’ve found.

Show Me the Money: Colorfulkoala’s joggers cost $35, so they’re a little pricier than the leggings. However, these are super durable and still much more affordable than Lululemon’s $98 joggers.

Padded Crop-Top Tank

The Details. I’ve already reviewed a Lululemon dupe tank, but I wanted to shout out this tank top from Lavento too! This is the softest, comfiest material you could imagine. The material is so similar to the Lululemon Align tank top that I would swear that it’s the same fabric. I wear a medium top. This tank runs true to size and has a slight stretch. It also has padding for extra support! I love this tank because you can wear it for a workout or dress it up with jeans and heels.

What’s the Difference? The only difference is the Lavento tank top has thinner straps than the Lululemon tank. The tank is available in Small, Medium, and Large, so if you have a larger chest (anything over a D) this option is probably not for you. I would love to see more inclusive sizing for this tank top.

Show Me the Money: This tank top ranges from $10 to $22, depending on size and color. The Lululemon tank costs $54! You could get multiple dupe tanks for the price of one name-brand item.

If you’re looking to invest in new workout gear, I highly recommend all of these products. A name brand doesn’t always mean that the product is better for your needs. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in your body and in your workout gear.

I love checking out new items, so if you have any dupes to recommend, send them my way!
