Topshop Jamie vs Joni Jean Review

Mar 16, 2020

written with love on

Okay, ladies, it’s time to get real. Jean shopping can be one of the most demoralizing and upsetting experiences. I know that because I’ve been there before… jumping into jeans that are “my size” but still don’t fit right.

When I found Topshop jeans my life was forever changed! These jeans are seriously unlike any other jeans I’ve tried on before. I have at least six pairs of either the Jamie and Joni jeans and plan on buying a few more.

The sizing goes by waist size, but you’re able to choose the length which gives you a little more customization. Unfortunately, Topshop only goes up to size 36, but I’m working on finding brands with more inclusive sizing for future reviews and try-on hauls.

I’ve broken down each pair of Jamie and Joni jeans I own so you can have a no BS review when it comes to the fit and the sizing.

Jamie Jeans

The Jamie jeans are form-fitting, but still stretchy enough that I can move and be comfortable in. Seriously, they are just as comfortable as my favorite pair of leggings!

Here are my favorite Jamie jeans:

Ripped High Waist Crop Skinny Jeans

These TopShop skinny jeans are a great staple to have in your closet. These jeans have two small rips in the knee and come in a cool green/blue shade. Before finding Topshop’s jeans, I had a hard time finding jeans that fit both my waist and butt but these jeans hug my waist and shape my booty!

High Waist Skinny Jean

The Blue Black Jamie Jeans are a great compliment to any piece in your closet because these are a darker wash and don’t have any rips or holes. Because of the shade and clean look, these jeans make them easy to wear to different events.

You can pair these jeans with a crop top, flannel, and high top vans for a casual weekend look but you can even pair the same jeans with a blazer and heels to make it more professional for work.

Jamie Fray High Waist Skinny Jeans

Another Jamie jean I can’t live without! These jeans are more of a grey/blue shade, giving them more of a cooler tone than some of the other pairs. These jeans have a little less stretch to them, so if you’re ordering these, make sure you take that into consideration.

Jamie Ripped Hem Jeans in Black

These jeans are the perfect black pair to have as a staple in your wardrobe. I typically wear these jeans to dinner and drinks with friends. With the ripped hem, I like to pair them with a solid crop top and a leather jacket. Perfect for a fun night out!

Joni Jeans

If you’ve never tried jeans from Topshop before, I recommend starting with a pair of Joni jeans. The Joni jeans are my favorite style and the most comfortable.

Washed Black Ripped Joni Jeans

The biggest difference between the Jamie and Joni jeans is that the Joni jeans do not have belt loops! Because they don’t have belt loops, these washed Black Ripped Joni Jeans are tighter around the waist but have a thinner, stretchier material.

What size do I wear?

For reference, I am around 160 pounds, about 5’4” and wear a size 28 x 30 in Topshop. The 28 x 30 jeans hit right at my ankle, which is what I like! If you like your jeans a little shorter or longer, size up or down accordingly.

Are the Topshop jeans true to size?

I recommend sizing down in both the Jamie and Joni jeans. I’m usually a 29 or 30 in the waist, but find the 28 x 30 to be the perfect fit for me! These jeans look perfect with booties, sneakers, or heels depending on what look I’m going for.

I am much smaller in size (108pounds, 5’5″) and Jamie’s W28L30 that I ordered today are so tight for me! What’s going on 🙁

  2. Charlotte says:

Hmmmm I do not agree with the sizing recommendations. I’m smaller than you and the 28 is TIGHT on my waist. Maybe different body shape I have a long torso but to those relying on this post and buying online I’d go in and try on.

I think she may be lieing about her size!! As you can tell ALL the jeans she is wearing in the video are way too tight on her.
